THis here park is only ‘bout half of won hourtimes a ‘way, guys!! Yup!! In the next citytownsburg to the Southways, called the ST. THOMASplace!! I go to there lots’nlots for reals!!
So THIS is what it lookerates like now!! Yes!! It is the chunk that is all sorta WHITE as wintertimes fluffystuff!! Plus the soopercool buildinghouse to the Eastways, plus the chunk to the Southways with walkingroads too!!

Guys … I went to this chunk of place wayfarback in the 2017times to make my picturestories, butt then a wonky ‘puterbox LOSTED all them!! ALL OF THEM!! IKNOW!! So when Mum founded them a ‘gain, I was sooper‘cited to share them with you, so’s I was getting some shinynew wons from GOOGLEBOT, when allasudden … outtanowheres … WHAMMOKABLAMMO!!
Guys … I founded out that this chunk of place looks totally DIFFERENTER than when I went in the 2017times!!
I am not even joshing!! It is crazybananas, ‘cuz I did not even know!! Bestest part is that this chunk is WAYmorecooler plus waymoreinterestingal when I went the firstest times!! YUP!! It even has a shinynew name for crying out Pete!!

It is called BX TOWER, guys, plus it has soopercool historicalish storytimes I wanted to share with you!! YUP!!
Plus there was a nice chunk of grassycarpet ‘cross the street with some benches for buttparts, a special wordysign, plus that flappyflagpole and stuff. Butt basically not so much. Mostly this chunk was a ‘bout BX TOWER!! ………

The Canada Southern (CS) Railway and the London & Port Stanley (L&PS) Railway have crossed paths in the heart of St. Thomas since the construction of the Canada Southern Station in 1872. By 1920, the CS line had been leased to the Michigan Central who continued to operate BX tower until the NYC merger in the 30's.
The Canada Southern Railway constructed a route from Buffalo to Detroit, through St. Thomas, in 1872. By that time, the L&PS had been operating in the area for over 15 years, so it was up to the CS to protect the diamond where they crossed the L&PS tracks. For this they built a mechanically interlocked system of signals and switches which were controlled from the BX Tower located a few hundred feet east of the L&PS tracks. Levers in the tower allowed the operator to remotely operate switches and signals via a system of control rods that snaked along the ground near the tower.
BX Tower was constructed c. 1910 as a control point to prevent rail accidents at the junction of these two rail lines, and their successors. The tower was run by the Operator or Leverman. This position controlled the many levers connected to the track switches through the rail yard and intersection area, pulling the correct levers to send each train where it needed to go. There is also a mechanical computer known as an “interlocking grid” in the tower which would prevent the operator from pulling levers in an order that would cause a rail collision.
The tower’s design allows an elevated 360° perspective for the operator inside the building. There are also wall-mounted track diagrams and colour-coded levers to provide accuracy for the Operator-Leverman. These preventative measures paid off and the tower never had a collision during its many years of operation.
The signals were normally lined against the L&PS. Southbound L&PS trains were required to stop clear of Talbot Street and use their whistles to signal the BX tower of their intended destination through the interlocking plant. One whistle for a southbound train on the southbound track and two whistles for a southbound train on the northbound track. Once the tower operator set up the switches, he would provide a clear indication on the semaphore signals to allow the train to proceed.
Today BX Tower is owned by the City of St. Thomas, and cared for by the Elgin County Railroad Museum. BX Tower is open during a small number of Elgin County Railway Museum special events and can be toured by appointment.

Yes. This chunk is there too. Butt … it is pretty teensy, plus not so much a big dealio, guys. It is nice to see alla the grassycaptet and stuff, butt truestory the coolist part by a whole bunch is BX TOWER!! Yes!!

Veterans Memorial Garden Dedication Ceremony
On October 28, 2017 the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario officially opened the Veteran's Memorial Garden on Moore Street.

Guys!! It is ‘MAZING how right after I went to here, peoples started to change almostly everythings ‘cept BX TOWER!! Yup!! Then when they were all done and stuff, they changed this chunks name, plus then n’vited a whole buncha folks who used to be armypeoples, plus who used to fight so’s my Canadaplace can live safe plus sound!! YES!! They had a special partytimes for saying “SHANKSH!!” to them, plus to ‘member everybuddy who did not get to come home!! Looks like it was AWESOMETIMES, guys!!
Then the GOVERNORLADY tolded everybuddy what the shinynew name is, plus then cut a ribbon that was keeping everybuddy out!! Guys …. NOWABOUTS this chunk lookerates like … THIS!! ………………

Was created in 2017 with the purpose to provide healthy, affordable food to those in need of it. We have built the garden to preserve our history around the railroad tracks, but also with hope to grow & stregthen our community.
