Guys.... can you 'magine having to keep a secret for (50) yeartimes!!?? YES!! The kind of sooperdooper secret-agent kind of secret you couldn't even tell to your sweetie!!?? Or your juniorpeoples!!?? Or even your bestest friendlypals!!?? I KNOW!! That would be crazybananas!!
Butt did you know!!?? That is 'ZACKLY what happened to (six thousand) Canadian peoples who worked on the 'mazing science called RADAR during the Second World War!! Yes!! Fact is, they could not tell anybuddy anythings 'bout what they did from the 1940times 'till the 1991times!!
That is sooperscary, 'cuz lots of the 'mazing peoples who did this sooper'portant secret work for my Canada are now gone or are so oldentimer, they can't 'member or talk 'bout it!!
Butt now there is a 'mazing museumhouse that is alla 'bout telling these secret storytimes, plus keeping alla the fantastical artifacts preserved forever plus everever!! Yes!! .........
The Secrets of Radar Museum is hiding right here in our London, Ontario, Canada, guys!! I did not even know anythings 'bout it, butt I am just a puppy gentleman, so that is AOK. What is not AOK is that so many other peoples do not know 'bout it either!! It is for reals crazybananas how 'portant this place is, butt still not e 'nuff peoples know 'bout it or help to keep it going!!
When I finished my quest to see all 458 parks in my London, Ontario, I wanted to start a shinynew series of picturestories that would be alla 'bout the soopercool 'mazing places I got to discover when I was reviewing parks!! Yes!! Plus I could not 'magine a waymorebetter place to start with than The Secrets of Radar Museum!!
So I wrote to MAYA HIRSCHMAN who is the curator of The Secrets of Radar Museum (SORM). She is the coolist, plus she is made entirely out of awesome, guys!! Truestory for reals!! I asked if I could come get a tour to help tell everybuddy alla 'bout it, plus she said "'COURSE!!".
The SORM is hiding behind the PARKWOOD INSTITUTE in a real unusual kinda spot, so it can be sorta hard to find, butt check out the addressybits I have posted above, plus check out the gallery for where to park!! YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS, GUYS!! Seriousface!!
Plus when you come make sure Maya is there, plus tell her Archie sent you, 'cuz you will have the BESTEST times!!
Inside is a whole buncha artifacts, wordybits, real working science doodads from wayback in oldentimes days, models, picturedrawings, picturetography, plus even real uniforms that the peoples wore when they worked on RADAR!! You will not even bleeve the stuff that is in there, plus if you get a tour with Maya, she will tell you mind-blasting stories 'bout all of it!! ...........
The most amayzazing part of my whole entire trip was listening to Maya talk 'bout how families come to see her allatimes with an oldentimer photo, or medal, or patch, or some kind of artifact that they don't know anything 'bout!! They will say that they THOUGHT their Mum or Pop or Grampa or somebuddy in their family was a "mechanic" or "operator" during the wartimes butt they don't know anything 'bout what the artifact is or what their familyperson actually did!!
Then Maya will tell them that their family member was not just a "mechanic" or "operator"!! Nope!! Lotsatimes she will get to tell them that they were secretly a RADAR MECHANIC or RADAR OPERATOR and 'cuz of the Official Secrets Act they could not even tell anybuddy!!
Guys.... those stories really punched me in the emotions. Seriousface.
SOOPERFUN SCIENCEFACT:
Did you know... that Microwave Ovens use radar technology!!?? Yup!! The firstest ones were called RADAR RANGES!! Plus... get this: The firstest microwaves were ready to go to market back in the 1940times, butt 'cuz they used radar technology, the companies that n'vented them, were not allowed to sell them!! Not 'till way later!! Isn't that AMAYZAZING!!?? I KNOW!! We could have had microwave ovens in our kitchenrooms almostly 30 yeartimes earlier if they did not have secret futurescience inside them!!
So guys... basically what I am saying is... GO TO THE SECRETS OF RADAR MUSEUM!!
Visit the interwebsite (secretsofradar.com), plus if you can, help out with volunteering work or dollarpennies, 'cuz they need lots'nlots of both to keep this sooperspecial place safe plus preserved for everyone to enjoy!! Plus...
Shanksh to MAYA HIRSCHMAN for being soopercool, plus for helping us tell the you 'bout...
THE SECRETS OF RADAR MUSEUM!!
THE END
